Mechanical Relay Brd

The mechanical relay mother board, MTI part
#81096, provides 16 socketed mechanical relays with
the normally closed and normally opened contacts
brought out to the connectors. The 81096 is utilized
in conjunction with the MTI part #81050, encoder/
decoder which receives and transmits signals to and
from the standard MTI processor system. The mechanical
relays utilized provide an AC or DC output
capability with a 10 amp rating for 24 volts DC and a
10 amp rating for 120 volts AC.
The addresses of the inputs and outputs associated
with the 81096 are determined by the dip switch settings
on the 81050, encoder/decoder board.
The mechanical relay mother board utilizes the identical
mounting hold pattern as the MTI part #81022,
solid state relay mother board, and is intended for
use only when solid state relays are not acceptable or
when a large number of doors require dual relay lock
back functions.
The single relay output with the normally opened and
normally closed contact provided on the 81096, mechanical
relay mother board, can be used to control
the motorized locks utilizing electrical hold back function
with only one relay output required per lock. This
is accomplished using both the normally opened and
the normally closed contacts. The use of mechanical
relays with solenoid locks is not recommended due
to the impact on the mechanical contacts of the in
rush currents associated with solenoid locks.
