Decoder Board

The encoder/decoder is used on all MTI
systems (i.e. locking, lighting, intercom, etc.).
Its function is to convert the serial data loop to
16 inputs/outputs, which are set via the two dip
switches mounted on the termination board or
the on board dip switch. The 81650 is provided
with both the old style receptacles and the new
plug connector. This allows the 81650 to be
used in place of both the 81050 and the 81150.
The 81650 encoder/decoder is equipped with
16 high current open collector NPN outputs
rated 400 ma DC at 50 volts. All inputs are
high voltage protected. Each board utilizes an
on board voltage regulator providing for
operation on voltages ranging from 7 to 36
volts DC; recommended operating voltage is
10 to 12 volts DC. Data updates are completed
every 25 milliseconds. All decoders are
capable of diagnostic supervision. This is a
software feature that is activated via the
controlling processor.
