Montgomery Technology, Inc. has been a proven leader in the Detention Marketplace for over 20 years. We now offer the direct purchase of our products via this online e-Commerce site.
With the same leadership and ingenuity that inspired numerous revolutionary developments in the 20th century, we have a passion for technology and will once again lead the industry in innovations during the 21st century.
Initially focusing on the needs of the detention/corrections industry, MTI introduced its first innovative integrated system in 1987. Today with over 1500 completed jobs, MTI is the proven industry leader in technology, stability and backwards compatibility. The systems provided offer cost effective long term solutions for the detention facilities of today, from design build to retrofits, this is “The System”. Some of the innovations include: Spreadsheet programming of the PLC, Handheld Wireless Devices, Digital Intercom VOIP, Modular design, Video over Ethernet VOE, etc. All of these innovations provide for the most comprehensive package available to secure, maintain, and operate your facility.
Stability is an absolute requirement for the provider of long term systems. MTI leads the industry in continuous ownership, number of completed jobs, and maintaining backwards compatibility. Due to the stability of MTI, an owner has the assurance that his system can be maintained and upgraded long into the future. The MTI system is designed to provide service for the life of the facility.
Backwards compatibility is another absolute requirement for the provider of long term systems. With all technology based equipment, such as a security control system, there is a finite life cycle. The length of that life depends on:
The manufacture’s planed life cycle. Most integrators supply equipment designed and manufactured primarily for the industrial market with a depreciation schedule of 5 years and a planned life expectancy of 10 years. The life expectancy of a MTI system installed today is 20 years. Even though technology has changed significantly since 1987, MTI has maintained backwards compatibility to all IO equipment. This allows an owner to upgrade PLC’s or operator interfaces without complete system replacement, resulting in significant cost savings.
Quality of the installation and system maintenance are major factors in life expectancy of a system. This is why MTI uses a certification process with all of our distributors. MTI provides training to owners and installers at no charge.
System Structure and Interface Capabilities is a critical requirement for the provider of long term systems. MTI utilizes standard Ethernet interfaces between all PLC’s and computers within the system. This allows for the system to be easily expanded. MTI also provides interfaces to other systems such as CCTV, Lighting, Fire Systems, Elevators, Perimeter Systems, Man Down Systems, etc, using industry standard RS232, RS422, RS485, USB or Ethernet connections.
Quality is still another absolute requirement for the provider of long term systems. MTI provides a very high quality product. To provide assurance to our customers, MTI pursued and has received ISO-9001 certification and certification as an UL certified panel shop. In addition, a number of the MTI products have been certified to UL Standards, such as or PLC which is certified to UL 508.
MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) for the MTI products exceed the PLC industry standards.
Training--MTI offers free training to owners and distributors. The classes are held in Greenville AL; the participant is responsible for travel and expenses. The training includes all aspects needed to install, trouble shoot, and maintain the MTI systems. Contact our office for a current schedule.
Technical support--MTI offers free tech support by phone. With the MTI system, an owner can get support from any of our distributors or call the factory for free phone support. We also have in-house technicians which can provide on-site support if needed
